Text values recognized as table values?

Following completed via networked, M365 environment vice desktop. Powerapps is recognizing sharepoint list column values defined as single text as table values. Tried correcting sharepoint list column; creating a new column; reformatting column by deleting JSON but it keeps repopulating ( {"$schema": "https://developer.microsoft.com/json-schemas/sp/v2/column-formatting.schema.json"} ); tried forcing text values via JSON(), First(), and Text() but none worked.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Please share pictures of what you are talking about as the description itself is not super helpful.

Please show where you have an App, show the List, show the Column, what type of column it is (I know you said single text) but please share that.

Then share how you are trying to access the data etc.

As when you say PowerApps is doing this, what expressions? What controls? What what?
