New Vehicle Screen - submit & refresh

Hi!

The challenge instructions read "When the form is submitted return to the Home screen ensure that the parking inspections table is refreshed". I am wondering if it is enough to just refresh the parking inspections with the submit button (incl. navigation back to Home Screen) or if the submit button must not only create a new vehicle but also a new parking inspection for the vehicle at the same time.

Thank you for clarifying :-)

    Refresh the parking inspections table after submission
    This means that when the form is submitted, the data source (parking inspections) should be refreshed so the latest data is visible when you return to the Home screen.

    Does the submit button need to create both a vehicle and a parking inspection?
    if the form is only for creating a new vehicle, then the submit button should handle that. However, if the business logic requires that every new vehicle automatically gets an initial parking inspection record, then yes, the submit button should also create that inspection record (using Patch() or Collect() logic after SubmitForm()).

    I am not sure what is the exact business requirement which you are having currently, I have shared the below code as follows.

    This is not the only way there are multiple ways to achieve this as a best practice i include the error handling as well,

    SubmitForm(Your Form Name); // Submit the vehicle form

    // Try & Catch - Exception Handling
    If(
        FormName.Valid,
        // Create a new parking inspection for the submitted vehicle
        Patch(
            ParkingInspections,
            Defaults(ParkingInspections),
            {
                VehicleID: frmVehicle.LastSubmit.ID,
                InspectionDate: Today(),
                Status: "Pending"
            }
        );

        // Refresh the parking inspections table- new values gets updated.
        Refresh(ParkingInspections);

        // Show success notification
        Notify(
            "Vehicle and initial parking inspection created successfully!",
            NotificationType.Success
        );

        // Navigate back to Home screen
        Navigate(HomeScreen, ScreenTransition.Fade),

        // Else: show error notification
        Notify(
            "Error: Please check required fields and try again.",
            NotificationType.Error
        )
    );

    It's fine for the submit button to create a new vehicle only, and to not also add a new parking inspection at the same time.

    I'm one of the assessors for the Power Up final challenge and I can confirm that adding a new parking inspection at the same time does not appear on the grading rubric.
