I have 52 documents trained in an AI Builder General Document model and need to migrate them into a Custom Document Processing model. I need assistance transferring the training documents and understanding if any tagging work can be preserved.

AI Builder does not support transferring training documents or preserving tagging work between models or between environments.
It is described in the documentation here as well:

When you export an AI Builder model as a solution component, only the model executable is included. The training data is not included with the model. You cannot create and train a new version of an imported document processing model because the training dataset isn't part of the imported solution. So, moving a model with its training data is not possible.

If you copy the entire environment (not just the model) using the Power Platform Admin Center, it will preserve the exact model with training data, but creates a complete environment duplicate.

    Better solution:
Train models in development environment, then package as solution and then deploy read-only to production.

Unfortunately, there is no supported migration path from an AI Builder General Document model to a Custom Document Processing model that preserves the

    training dataset and tags.
