Error when attempting the first excercise in the Microsoft applied skills learning path

Hello Community, i have started the first excercise on the Microsoft Learning path for the Create and manage canvas apps with Power Apps for the Microsoft applied skills https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/get-started-with-powerapps/5-powerapps-create-first?ns-enrollment-type=learningpath&ns-enrollment-id=learn.wwl.create-manage-canvas-apps-power-apps and when selecting step 5 in the instructions i am getting the following error:

Incidencia Error al intentar recuperar datos de la red: !fn9d0!")' or operator expected at position 4 in '(Do Not Modify) Coffee Machine asc'. Ploc P! inner exception: Ifn9d0!')' or operator expected at position 4 in '(Do Not Modify) Coffee Machine asc'. Ploc P! clientRequestId: 66e27ca4-9322-4101-9d21-a6d24119ea91 Ubicación BrowseGallery1 .Items

It seems there are syntax errors in the quoting after some investigation i did but that sounds strange as this is a "prepared" excercise from Microsoft and the data should be good to go through this, did anyone experienced the same?

Thanks!

Leo

I was receiving the same error, tried many things until I managed to fix it doing these steps:

    1. In the Excel file, UNHIDE All Columns
    2. Change the names of the fields (delete special characters like: ( , ) , . , / , and also blank spaces, so the fields has regular names such as DoNotModifyCoffeeMachine

Upload the file following the instructions and then create the app. The app will send you another error of "column mismatched". Does not matter. Then:

    1. Publish the App with any name
    2. Exit the app
    3. Enter to the app, it will finally show the records somehow.

    Hope it works.

I am not sure what the others are referring too. I have many mentee's doing these without issue.

The only time they had issues was when they downloaded the wrong file for the wrong exercise as they are all for the same App, but the app evolves.

And @CU14072219-0 your code is jus wrong so it has nothing to do with this users post.

I ran into the same problem. It happens because there are hidden columns in the excel file that have parentheses in the column name. Microsoft definitely didn't test this. Even after I edited the column name in the excel file and re-imported it, I ran into other similar errors.

On the page for that exercise, you can just skip to the section called "Create a Canvas app" and you will accomplish the same result differently.

There are too many details to clarify what is step 5, please provide a picture of the issue.

    Thanks
