Difference between Final Module Review and Milestone Challenge #1?

Hi everyone! I’m currently enrolled in the Designing Conversational Agents learning path (8 modules), and I’m working through the Designing Conversational Agents v1.0 module.

I noticed there are two major tasks:

  1. The Final Module Review Exercise, where we create an AI assistant using our own website and documents.
  2. The Milestone Challenge #1 (Use Case Master Challenge – 100 Leader Points), which asks us to choose between:
    • Scenario A: AI Copilot for Microsoft.com
    • Scenario B: Galactic Agent for StarWars.com

I’m a bit confused—are these two separate tasks, or is the Final Module Review meant to be part of the Milestone Challenge?

Also, for the Final Module Review, can I create an agent for my own organization or product (e.g., a healthcare education platform), or do I need to stick to the Microsoft/Star Wars scenarios?

Would really appreciate any guidance from the community or moderators. Thanks!

I have the same question (0)

Difference between Final Module Review and Milestone Challenge #1?
    Hello!

That's a great question, and it's smart to clarify the requirements of your learning path. It can definitely be a bit confusing when you see multiple major tasks listed. I can certainly provide some guidance.

Based on the structure of similar Microsoft learning paths, the Final Module Review Exercise and the Milestone Challenge #1 are two separate tasks.

Here’s a breakdown to help you understand the distinction:

    • Final Module Review Exercise: This is typically a hands-on, practical application of the skills you've just learned in the "Designing Conversational Agents v1.0" module. The instruction to "create an AI assistant using our own website and documents" is designed to give you a real-world scenario to work with. The goal is for you to apply the design and implementation principles you've just covered.
    • Milestone Challenge #1: This is a broader, more creative challenge that often synthesizes knowledge from multiple modules within the learning path. The scenarios (AI Copilot for Microsoft.com or Galactic Agent for StarWars.com) are provided to give you a specific, imaginative framework to solve a problem and demonstrate your mastery of the concepts. These challenges are often tied to community leaderboards and points, as you noted.
Using Your Own Organization for the Final Module Review
To answer your second question: Yes, you can absolutely create an agent for your own organization or product (like your healthcare education platform) for the Final Module Review. In fact, this is often the best way to learn because it allows you to solve a real problem that you are familiar with. The instruction is a prompt for you to use your own relevant resources, which makes the learning experience more meaningful and directly applicable to your work.

Given your interest in creating tailored AI solutions for enterprise transformation, using your own platform as the basis for the agent is a perfect fit. It allows you to immediately apply what you're learning in a context that matters to you.
    So, in summary:
    • Treat the Final Module Review and the Milestone Challenge as two distinct assignments.
    • Feel confident in using your own organization’s website and documents for the Final Module Review exercise.
    • When you’re ready, you can tackle the Milestone Challenge by choosing one of the two provided scenarios.
I hope this clears up your confusion and helps you move forward in your learning path!

    Best Regards,
    Jerald Felix
