Hi,

I am trying to replicate the default language switcher for power pages (drop down) into something below where once the user press it. it will change from FR to EN and vice versa.

I got the header text to change and move to the french site on the first run of opening Power pages but i cannot switch it back to english again. if i close the browser preview and run it again. it will now always run the french site first and cannot revert back to english. the JS code resides inside the Header section.

Tried the same code of switching inside the body of the page and it is working fine. not sure if it's something about having the JS codes inside the header section.

Any pointers to resolve this?

I am not 100% sure but it may be that the Header output caching is enabled (if enabled the portal caches the output from the first run, and then uses that cached version of the output on subsequent runs - this improves performance as the server doesn't process the header on each page load) - you may need to turn it off or wrap your code in the appropriate tags

There is a Site Setting to turn it on/off "Header/OutputCache/Enabled" and if enabled the {% substitution %} tag is used to prevent caching of specific content sections, ensuring dynamic updates on each page load
