Local login, forgot password with username input

Dear community,

Could anyone help me in figuring out how to a username input in the forgot password option in local login for our website.

There are instances where emails will be replicated in our site, execution of the forgot password feature only requires a user to log his or her registered email address. In instances where there are multiple email addresses, I'm not sure for now how the forgot password feature works.

Can anyone help? Can anyone share what happens when there are duplicate email addresses?

Hi,

if I understand you correctly you are creating duplicate mailadresses for one user.

That will work on the backend but never on the frontend. When somebody would try creating an account with the same mail you will get that mail already exists. It's a primary key.

In your case I would create another table and create lookups to the created contact. That way you can reset the password for said mailadress, but still got the necessary data in your backend.
