Hi everyone,
I’m building a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent for a client, and I want to automate the way knowledge base documents (like PDFs, Word files, etc.) are uploaded. Currently, when uploading a document via the Copilot Studio UI, I can set a name and description for that file — which is very helpful for organizing the knowledge and ensuring accurate query resolution.
However, I want to avoid giving the client direct access to Copilot Studio. Ideally, I want to:
Trigger a Power Automate flow when a new document is uploaded to OneDrive or SharePoint.
Push that document into the Copilot agent’s knowledge base programmatically — using Dataverse or any available API/SDK.
Along with the file, set its name and description, just like in the UI.
Ensure that these fields (especially the description) are used or visible in Copilot’s responses, or at least influence retrieval quality.
Has anyone built a custom admin portal or used a Power App to manage Copilot knowledge base files outside of the Studio UI?
Any insights, examples, or documentation links would be hugely appreciated
Thanks in advance
