Fabric data agents not visible in Copilot Studio (new experience) despite same tenant

Hi everyone,

In the new Copilot Studio experience, when I go to Agents > Add an agent , my published Fabric data agents never appears.

In the classic (old) Copilot Studio experience, I was able to add the same Fabric data agent as an MCP server without any issues. So the data agent itself works and is published.

What I've already verified:
- Copilot Studio and Fabric are in the same tenant (Entra tenant ID matches the ctid in the Fabric URL), same account in both.
- The data agent is published in Fabric and I have access to its workspace and data sources.
- I also tried creating a new Fabric connection in Copilot Studio — the list is still empty.

Is this a known limitation or bug in the new experience? Are there extra prerequisites (capacity type, tenant settings) that apply only to the new experience? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks!

Currently, you can use the Fabric data agent MCP server only in VS Code. When creating a new Agent with the new experience I can't find an option to link it under the Tools.

The current version of CoPilot Studio is still preview so we need to wait to incorporate all the features. If you need you can go back to the classic version and add the fabric agents.

Fabric data agents are not inside copilot studio by default not in the previous experience not in the modern one, what you can do is consume/connect fabric data with a copilto stduio agent.

And is enabled in the modern experience as well, if you cannot see it, pelase check with your IT Admin because maybe is disabled, and also as @MS.Ragavendar mentioned, both features are in preview so is possible that some of those functionalities may change.

If all documented prerequisites are satisfied and the data agent continues to be absent only in the new experience, I'd recommend opening a Microsoft support case.

What you can do:

Use the classic experience for now to add the Fabric data agent as an MCP server — since the agent is already published and working, this is the quickest unblock.

Check tenant/admin settings – Even in the modern experience, if the option is missing entirely, ask your IT admin to confirm the relevant preview features aren't disabled at the tenant level.

Since both Copilot Studio (new experience) and Fabric data agents are in preview, the availability and UI may change — it's worth re-checking after upcoming updates.
