AI builder running multiple unexpected instances

I am a teacher and am trying to use the AI builder to auto-mark quiz submissions. I have created a flow that takes responses from a Microsoft Forms quiz and runs it through an AI prompt. Unfortunately, the IT team told me that I had used up all the credits for the entire school for the month by doing this, though I only had about 150 submissions. They explained to me that each submission was creating a new instance for every single student that had been sent the form (so approx. 20 instances per flow run), and this was causing the credits to run out much faster than I thought. I have no idea why that is happening, and don't have access to the admin panel to be able to check specifics. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

Apologies I do not know what you mean by "issue". I agree its a pain :-) though as it can be hard to understand and understand these things. The IT people are correct, you are burning through them as you use them. Its credits in credits out.

I do not know how many credits you burned through as I do not know how many forms you have, or if people can submit and change then resubmit etc.

How many questions do you have? Are you taking the answer from the Form then sending to Ai to get a response. That plus the length of the request, the length of the generative Ai model being used and anytime you use a flow or PowerApps and every single time you use an Ai Builder Action it counts as credits..

If you want to understand how Ai credits work, its best to contact Microsoft as well intended as we would be, we are not accountable to being correct.
